St James the Great, Dursley

 

The church of St James the Great is the parish church for Dursley, standing in a commanding position in the town centre.  The church is normally open every day from 9am until dusk and we welcome visitors.

Our normal service pattern is:

Sundays

8am Said Holy Communion using Common Worship modern language

10am (except 2nd Sunday) Sung Holy Communion using Common Worship modern language with a strong choral tradition.

10am 2nd Sunday Informal Worship which is sometimes Holy Communion.

On Sundays (except the 2nd Sunday) during school term time, our Children's Church meets in the Parish Centre behind the church at 10am, joining the rest of the congregation during the service.

6.30pm Choral Evensong (Book of Common Prayer) on 2 Sundays each month - see Calendar for details.

Thursdays

10am Said Holy Communion using Common Worship modern language, followed by coffee.

Monday to Saturday

9am Morning Prayer (except Tuesday); 5pm Evening Prayer (except Friday).
